Hi,

I'm running a 2001 Leon Cupra with original shocks & recently fitted Eibach pro kit springs . I'm having to have a wheel bearing replaced & the mechanic has identified that the front dampers may be starting to go. I have wanted to eliminate more of the body roll at some point but don't necessarily need the ride to be any firmer than it is now. So here's my dilemma/question:

- Mechanic has recommended I uprate the dampers whilst replacing which means all 4 would have to be done & they can be pricey.

- Just moved into a house so funds not as free as I'd like right now.

My questions are:

1. Can anyone recommend a decent budget set of dampers that would go well with my Eibachs without making the ride too hard?

or

2. What would be the difference if I just replaced the 2 front dampers with standard ones & then bought front & rear strut braces which I have seen some reasonably priced ones? Hence, no decrease in current ride quality but eliminate body roll?

My primary requirements are the price & I don't want to sacrifice ride quality. I realise there have been a few threads on suspension but I needed the comparison with the strut brace option.

All responses welcomed & asap as car has to go in this week. Cheers people. :)

i have just bought a full jom 40mm kit from damian@dpm for £128 i havent got it fitted yet but the reviews have been good considering the price, the problem you would have is that you would need to sell your eibachs, another thing whatever you do replace the top mounts if you are changing the shocks, you can get them from david@seremotors on this forum for a good price
