£3800 for a Cupra R with 50k on clock? Seller with 287 feedback with 99.7% positive????

100% dodgy any auction that you have to e mail someone off of e bay rather than asking them a question on it should be viewed as a con, its a cloned e bay account normally done from a diffrent country which may explain why the auction is in euro's.

Sure it's not a mistake a missing the 1, infront of , £13000 so on. If so, It's overpriced, but just a thought. 'I don't know anything about Ebay'

Im not being funny but this thread has been popping up at least twice a week for about the last 3-4mths.

Im surprised none on you have seen these threads as they are so common

Its a hijacked account hence feedback looks good, you have to email an address rather than use ''ask seller a question'' option and how the price is so low when he can get 2-3 times the amount from a trade in, never mind a private sale.

He will ask you for a deposit to end auction early as its at a really low price and he's had lots of response.

You are overwhelmed by how much of a bargain you are getting, you dont really think about it so you send him £500 to end auction (looking at feedback thinking he's genuine)

For you to never hear from them again.

Its not just LCR's, there was a thread started yesterday about an RS4 for £14000 aswell. He could get £40-45000 for it for example.

Some muppets will fall for this, ebay really need to do something about it. Everyone has cottoned onto the nigerian scammers, this is their new tactic.

yeh, agreed Mitchy. I should know better, but i didnt realise that so many hijacked accounts existed.
Perhaps by "asking a question" to the seller would send an email to the REAL account owner, and hence alert them of the hijack???

Its so easy to do, i frequently get messages from ''ebay'' asking to re-enter my username/password to update their systems or confirm your identity etc.

They look 99.9% identical in layout to genuine ebay messages and have a very similar address. People input their information and then the fraudsters now have access to their account.

Just to add to this

If you have ANY message from E-Bay it will be in the message box when you log in.

NEVER reply to any e-mail sent as it's more than likley a scam

Log into ebay and check the message first to see if it's genuine!

LOL, this happened to a friend of mine he logged into his ebay account and found he was selling a top of the range merc for £20k, he was so confused!
