Supersprint problems

Anyone with a supersprint exhaust have problems with it blowing badly from all the joints?

I had mine fitted about 3 weeks ago, started blowing badly from the joints about 2-3 days after.

I give it a week to bed in hoping that it would sort itself out, but just got worse. I e-mailed the company that fitted it an arranged to take it back down to have it sorted last weekend. They spent about an hour sorting it, cut off the supersprint clamp, and used a conventional ubolt clamp instead.

Was ok for another day or so, but I can hear it blowing again. Emailed them today, and now turns out that im expected to pay an hours labour (£50+vat) for the weekends work - no mention at the time!

Now.... is it unresonable to expect them to fix the problem free of charge?
Its not like its 6 months down the line and its started blowing. If it was fitted correctly first time round, which I belive it wasnt, then this wouldnt have happened

Any views?

Cheers!

You shouldn't have to pay, if it was blowing its either there shoddy installation or a fault with the exhaust yourself.

They fitted an exhaust that wasn't "fit for use".

Don't pay mate and if they try sending ya the bill just ring ya local trading standards ;)

BTW I have a Supersprint exhaust and its fine

One thing I did notice when looking at it saturday was the lack of any type of sealant on the joins. Which leads me to think that its the cause of the blowing.

That is how this has come about. Ive emailed him today to tell him the work done on the weekend to rectify the problem hasn't worked and something else needs to be done.

Im not overly impressed by his attitude at all, now and in the past. Im still waiting on a reply from him now! I dont want to post publically what he has said in emails, not yet.

Im impressed by the quality, clamping system looked weak though. Thats why the supersprint clamp was removed and a conventional one used.

if it's not got sealant on it - it's gonna leak. if you pay someone to fit it then the presumption is that they use a sealant.

I got my Supersprint system fitted today and its fine at the moment, with no leaks - but the guy who fitted it was having problems joining it to the Miltek system and its not straight/flush with the bumper and is knocking. So im gonna go back tomorow and hopfully he will rectify the problem.:p

Just got off the phone to Grant, he agreed to waive the fitting for last saturday and agreed to rectify the blowing FOC.

Fingers crossed this will be the end of this problem :)

This hopefully will show how Westec can resolve an post-sale 'issue'. Which personally I belive is better than the initial sale for reputation. :)
