Sunroof repair - quoted 3200€ (+1 month wait) in Italy any suggestions?

Hi there,

Thanks for welcoming in the forum, I hope this is not misplaced!

just writing here as my beloved Leon ST has an issue with the sunroof which cannot close anymore.
I am able to drive only on sunny days as there is always a 1-inch open side of the sunroof.

I have been quoted a sum of 3200€ just for work and parts and they told me minimum 1-month wait. (Glasses are absolutely fine)

I am thinking to ask for quotes and drive the car to Germany, any experiences / suggestions?

I hope somebody can help me out

Does it open normally? and close normally untill that last inch?
Have you tried resetting it?

I have been told I need to replace the full mechanism and the motor.

Years ago electric sunroofs had a way of closing them in an emergency with a handle or key inserted into the motor mechanism, don't know if it's possible on your one.
