I thinking of buying the subwoofer from Seat for my Altea 2.0 TDI sport.
It's says on the Seat accessories website "Easy to install" does that mean the harnessing is already there? Pre-out and power?

If so it might be worth a purchase !

A discussion that had been had before, umm last time it came up it, was no, no, and the last wasn't discussed, but Paul who I recall is altea-ego has fitted one to his New Leon with a similar headend as I recall. It's mentioned in the Altea threads but you could search under Altea-Ego.

A big fat no.....

A few threads mentioned about their own installations, but nothing about the pre-wired harness.
I've even stripped the rear of the car down and looked for any harnessing or connectors with no luck.
I think I’m going to have to do what everyone else has done and feed a battery cable from the front to the rear.

Yes and well this looks like a subwoofer to me and the hacksaw job that I started off on the speaker adaptor kits, to be fair my brother since I said, I need this bit cut off around there and he did it.

I do admit that I remember Paul as Altea Ego and not Alt54 :). You can always ask Paul on that thread how he fitted the subwoofer.... er no Seat as I understand it don't pre-wire, that goes for the CD changer and since they don't have a sub woofer as an option you wouldn't find it would you :).

I'm not a big fan of sub woofers in cars or people that use them.... LOL. Home cinema I don't have a problem, the audio is designed on the tracks for that and the sub woofer is placed up front but sticking a sub woofer in the boot to annoy people with how big yours is, is well..... having my front door knockers vibrating and the front door shaking when these brain dead go by outside doesn't give me positive feelings. Paul excepted....

Thanks for the info.
I'm already fitted Alpine DD-Liner speakers to the doors with home made adaptors and it looks like i'll be searching for a way to get the power feed from the battery to the boot this weekend.

Also fitted 2din touch screen Navi. Origional radio in the bin !
Will try and get a few pics on here to show what i've done !

As far as i am aware there is no pre wiring for the Seat Sub kit (i am not even sure it is listed in the Uk as an available accessorie.) so you are going to have to run a new power cable from the battery as you suspected. Removing the glove box will give you best chances of access.
By changing the head unit you have also got round the problem of no line outputs on the seat head unit. (mine is speaker fed)
I like the sub in mine, it is not of sufficient size to cause the problems that Tell complains of but does give a solid bass to the music without drowning it out. (a Pair of 12's in your boot is a world a way from the the 6" Bazooka i have)
