Subtle Suspension

We know the Cupra and the R dont have the nicest suspension, so Im wanting to upgrade in the new year and go a little lower but im not overly fussed with coilovers mainly due to price.

So I was thinking of something like a bilstein and eibach spring and shock combo or im aware that H&R do a spring and shock setup also?

Im after something that feels subtle and NOT judders over every bump and lowers about 30 or 40mm. If any one has any recommendations?

I also will be replacing the Top mounts and bearings at the front and also the rear mounts.

What sort of price would I be looking at for all the above and is it worth doing anything else like bushes? or is it worth going for coilovers?

Pics would be very useful.

I'd appreciate useful replys rather than (use the search)

You already have seat sport suspension so that will be down 20mm lower than the cupras iirc as you have an R.

H+R cup kit is pretty low and imo and a few others including people who have had it very crashy and harash.

Not sure what else is available really, might be worth gettin touch with awesome or one of the sponsers to see what they can do.

Comparing my standard suspension o my Mrs suspension hers is pretty nice, she has the FK Silverlines on hers and I rate them. I thought the ride would be harsh

wonder if that was the only difference. i usually hear em reffered to as "fully adjustable suspension", its only since bein on here i've heard the term "coilys/coilovers"

thats cleared that up :D

Hi dan.

I currently have the above mentioned Bilstein monotube dampers and Eibach pro kit springs fitted to mine. So if you ever want to meet up to have a nosey let me kno, I'm only the other side of J30 on the M1.

Not sure if i've got any pics of it lowered, in fact I'm sure i haven't.

got H&Rs on mine with powerflex bushes. It really drops the car you wont want to go anywhere near a curb or uneven road.

On the plus side it handles really well and looks alot better.

Also to note if your lowering it alot the exhaust if not stardard will knock on the rear beam and will require a good bashing to sort :)

Got Bilstein PSS9 coilovers on mine. A fair drop, I'd say a little more than the H&R kit.

I've got them set on damper setting 5 out of a possible 9 (9 being softest) and it's about right on nice smooth roads. I'm considering putting it all the way down to 9 though as some of the bumps round my way get worried looks from passengers when I go over them.

Also, girls don't like bumpy cars, fact :(

Im having my Koni adjustable shocks with eibach pro kit fitted on Wednesday so i can report back, if its anything like I have dealt with before with the Koni/eibach comination then it will be fantastic... This will be along with full polybushes, seamwelded wishbones and new top mounts and ball joints, and 20mm rear HandR spacers..

Looking to order an HandR rear anto roll bar too..

Should feel abit different on the first drive afterwards!!

I use my car as my daily so coilovers wern't an option, and they had to be adjustable... whilst not lowering it so much that it handled ****..

Will let you know wednesday my first thoughs..
