Anyone done anything with the outside of their cars?


I;m gonna get the bumpstrips colour coded soon i reckon, do the rear ones come off like the front ones?

Also the pillar, has anyone removed the black stuff on it?


I think i might remove the rear wiper as well, clean the ass up a bit.

i use my rear wiper all the time, something about the shape off the ibiza attracks dirt to the rear. Colour coding looks good on blue ones maybe delock and smooth the bumpers??

I like the bump strips, as it breaks up the colour.

id colour code your bumpstrips, get a lcr splitter and leave it, the exterior styling is good as standard, allthough i wouldnt mind seeing what it looked like with the black stuff removed of the door pillar....

The windows have a slight tint on them, i think the blackk stip helps keep the windows smooth and keeps them looking as one window if you get me.

i agree with Tom, blue ones dont look better with colour coded bumpers ....the only colour that does i think is the grey

rear wiper would be tidy but the rear window seems to get soooo dirty for me that i wouldnt dare...have u fitted an aero wiper? that looks so much better on the rear that the stock arm...and the fronts too

To answer your question Phil, I think the rears do. I got quoted ~£120 from E P Tanner by me. As they would need to be prepped because of the finish they have.
Might be cheaper to source some off a base model because they have a flat black/grey finish iirc

Yep, there are two versions, black and grey (cupra's) if your getting them painted get the black versions, as they take the paint better.

Im not saying i dont like the colour coded bumpstrips, i do, but i like the fact that they break up the colour, when unpainted.

i wouldnt paint them personally on a flash red model although i think they look nice on the blue. Ive going to replace the cupra badge with a 20VT badge from a passat and ordered some german plates and surrounds

Sure have.

Mines had:

* Side repeaters removed.
* Black 'B' Pillar stickers removed
* Small swage lines removed from front & rear bumpers
* Aerial removed
* Rear light clusters removed from tailgate smoothed and plated.
* Rear wiper removed
* Rubbing strips on front and rear bumpers detextured and painted in Audi Grey
* Mirror Base plates detextured and painted as above

Took it off last weekend

Its fitted in the glass of the rear screen, so just need to remove it, and cover it off with a cap.
