Styling Kit Questions

Hi,

I'm new to the forum and have enjoyed reading it over the past few months leading up to me purchasing Leon FR ACT in March. I was going to go for the 184 however the type of driving I do meant I that the felt the ACT was more suited.

Anyway, just thought I'd bother all you knowledgeable folk with a few questions about the Mk3 styling kit.

The primary issue here is that I have been informed by a parts supplier that the exhaust system the styling kit is listed as suitable for is a 103kw engine, however as mine is the ACT variant it has a 110kw engine. Is this relevant? I thought Seat confirmed that any part of the kit would work with any engine/body style?

Secondly, I was just wondering if any of you could point me in the direction of a good supplier with prices that aren't too astronomical? I've tried to get in touch with a number of suppliers and 4 local Seat dealerships but have had no reply from any of them.

Thirdly, and this is more a matter of opinion - would you say the Leon looks better with the side-skirts if they rear bumper is being fitted? Or can the rear bumper be fitted as a stand alone part (with the exhaust system) and still look good? I'm in two minds on the side skirts as I'm not sure whether they detract from the angular creases running down the body work.

I emailed my dealer for a quote on some changes to the car including the body kit but had no reply. I think it is because the demand for this is so low after the purchase of the car that they can’t be bothered.

Search “Seat Leon Mk3 Body Kit” and you will get quite a number of websites. The parts are quite expensive. You will need to find somebody else to fix the kit and to spray it. Not sure if all jobs can be done by independent garages.

I do think that all cars look good with a body kit.

Still struggling to find any information with regards to my question about the exhaust system. . Any of the more mechanically minded members able to help on that one?

Additionally, it would be nice to see pictures of any member's white Leon SC with the kit fitted - Not too many pictures of 3-doors with the kit about.

Still had no response from any explored avenue - kit suppliers or Seat technical support - as to whether the aftermarket exhaust system is compatible with the ACT engine. .

Surely one of the more technically-minded members on here must have some sort of idea?

Have you tried contacting Seat UK customer services? IME they are a bunch of fooktards but you never know, all they have to do for this is refer to a spec sheet and not think for themselves.

I've been trying to get quotes and, like you, I've not been getting responses from the dealers. I asked at one when I had a service done, they just pointed at the price for the full set and haven't followed up with prices for just bits of it as I asked for (and they promised).
