undr the steering wheel is a piece of removable trim, simply pull it off to expose the fuseboard.....just above the fuseboard you will see the obd plug to connect to.

the port on the laptop is different it is like a female end the same as the lead

does this mean i have the wrong lead

You are obviously looking at a VGA port and NOT on a serial port.

its possible your laptop doesn't have a serial port, they are abit old hat nowadays

if this is the case then you might be able to get an adaptor of some sort

not 100% the lead will still function on that though
