Stupid mistake

Hi, well i was cleaning my car and noticed the aerial was looking a bit dirty so i took it off and cleaned but when i was putting it back on, i screwed it too tight and striped the thread in the actual part that's fixed to the roof so can't get my short aerial back on. The standard one still fits though because it has a longer screw strip. Any solutions, thanks?

The bit of the aerial that is attached to your roof can be replaced. Or just keep your standard one

looks funny if you go to a meet with the cars all lined up the standard aerial look a bit silly! I can't help on this although some people have saw down their standard aerials.
