Got a day off work last month to go and get some parts for my cupra and fit them. Was getting my new lcr splitter (cos i hit a bump and took the old one clean off) a new abs sensor and i was putting my wheels in to get rufurbished.
On the way to euro car parts a woman had stopped in the road to let a car out. It was pishing down and i never noticed and i skidded into the back of her doing about 25 mph it wasnt a bad bump and her car just had a few scratches. I got out to apologise and noticed my car was a wreck
The whole front end had caved in. I had a tear in my eye
I Got the car lifted home and phoned insurance. They took the car and said it was worth £3450 :| they said the damage was £4500. then they told me they wanted £900 excess and a years premium which for me is £1900. I would be left with next to nothing for the car so i canceled the claim and took it home. Started a bit of work on it and the damage is nowhere near £4500. Insurance are total dicks and from now on a car under 5k i will be insuring third party. It now looks like this....
I have fitted a crash bar and radiator since the crash also a few sensors and a new throttle body. The engine is running fine just body work now. chassis etc is all good aswell.
Also was at court last week because Last year in me and my bro was on a road trip in our cars with mates when a guy from my ice hockey team and his mate flew past us nearly crashing into the back of my bro if he never changed lane quick enough.
The guys mate then crashed at a roundabout and we stopped to help. Police came and decided the four of us were racing and we went to court 7 times (waste of tax payers money) all pleading not guilty. Apart from the guy who crashed he got banned for 15 months and got a £750 fine as his driving was terrible. He had only passed his test 1 day and was driving like a boyracer.
The final time at court it was going to be an all day trial because of witnesses etc. No statements had said i had done anynthing wrong so i stuck to my guns pleading not guilty. then all the lawyers got together with the judge (to try and get a day off work) and decided if 2 of us plead guilty to tailgating (dangerous driving with deletions) they will let the other off. the guy getting away being my bro.
My lawyer talked me into pleading guilty saying if i didn't there was a chance i could go to jail and lose my job which made me crap it so i went along with my lawyer thinking he knows best. Our sentence got defered and we went up a week later. My lawyer never turned up because he knew he had shafted me and the judge decided to give me a 15 month ban and a 750 pound fine sitting an extended test at the end of it :|
I am totally gutted and pissed off at my lawyer but i don't know what to do with the car. Do i fix it and sell or fix it and do all the stuff i want to it for when i get my licence back??
