exactly how much of a gain is all this, i know theres some weight in it standard 1119kg but anyone had there stripped out car weighted at a weigh bridge. Also any difference in 1/4 miles times. I can understand that on a track that would make a hell of an improvement and for use as a track/drag car only then i see the point but on an everyday car? not my cup-of-tea but thats just my view one it.

The way i understand the "manufaturers" weight of the car is what they call DRY weight ie 1119kg this means no oil, water, brake fluid, even air in the tyres!
Hence why if you take your car to a weigh bridge its gonna be more than this

I have a striped out car and it does make a difference, but thats also to the road noise and getting in and out with harnesses is a pain not to mention just trying to reach things in the car like the radio or if you drop something!

All things to consider before you take the plunge

thats why its not practical for everyday use......

I've had the rear of my car stripped out for some time now. Makes a difference in performance in my opinion but it does make it louder. Earplugs or ipod for long journeys :D

no way are they 1119kg
stripped out mine was 1157kg

i think its about right 1119kg as stated on the car and workshop manual even vosa and parkers. A corsa is not far off either and almost the same size motor.

stripping out a car would probably gain a 100 or so in weight loss i thought i read somewhere like the back seats were 25kg, door cards front and rear about 5-10kgs, carpets 5-10kgs, or around those lines not 100% sure

the main thing is why would you want to strip it out? looks flamin ugly to me (no offense to Revo Kev) and its fairly rapid with a remap as it is unless of course you were using it for competition or rallying

If you don't fancy the stripped look paint the metal black to match the carpets, won't look so in your face. My brother has done this with his Polo.
