Strange temp sensor?

I rolled my car down a hill earlier, turned my key enough to get my power steering working and as i was rolling down my temp sensor started beeping at me.

Thought it was odd but ignored it, not like it could of been overheating as the engine was off. Anyhow popped out half an hour later, turned car on and it started beeping again? Just before i was going to pull into a petrol station it stopped beeping, and my temperature rose at a normal rate and my oil temp was also normal.

What could be the cause of this? First time it happened...did it just not like being rolled down the hill with brakes half applied?

Thanks for any help

Same thing is happening to me, mine started beeping as coolant level was low so topped it up but its back beeping at me again and the red light flashing, temp is normal, any ideas what it could be?
Will have a look at the brake fluid

Coolant Level Sensor faulty, Coolant Temperature Sensor faulty.. !?! I had both of those replaced recently due to faults that elicited the same problems being mentioned (alarm beeping 3 times on start-up and temp gauge reading inconsistently).
No problems now after sensors replaced.

yeah, alarm beeps on start up and then goes away then comes back every 5-10 mins, but the temp reads fine, will vag.com detect any of the coolant sensor faults?
