Strange noise under braking...

Sorry for another one of these vague 'I have a noise' type threads but I have tried to locate the noise and haven't a clue.

Basically I will be driving along happily and then go to stop... as I press the brake I get a strange metal clicking noise which comes from under the bonnet. I have tried it without putting the clutch in as clutches can click when they are a bit worn and mine does. But it still happens without putting the clutch down.

It will only happen once each time i break suggesting something is going forward or moving under the force of breaking and then moves back when i accelerate again.

I have had a look at the brakes and they are not loose and I haven't left a screwdriver under the hood which is moving around. Difficulty is it happens when Im moving and doesn't happen when I press the brake at stand still!

my golf made noises over bumps. turned out to be, the front shocks. think the ibiza got the same set up as the golf on the front. there a little nut that hold the spring cap in place that had come loose. and evey time i went over a bump it clattered about.. that maybe worth a try essex/jib

my leon is doing the exact same thing only its got really bad now. Ive replaced the wishbone bushes, tried to grease the subframe bushes, checked the ball joints all to no joy. It sounds quide bad though now and its doing my head in. It started off from the passenger side and now both sides are doing it.
HJave you had any joy with sorting out yours.
