strange hissing noise?

my leon tfsi fr makes a strange hissing noise!!!

When i turn the engine off and get out i can hear a hissing noise that sounds exactly like air coming out of the front tyres. It clearly isnt the tyres as i have checked the pressures over the past week or so. It must be in the engine bay.... could it be the turbo cooling down? (even though I always take it easy in the last 5 mins of my journey )

The noise stops after 30 - 45 seconds after tuning off the engine.

Is this normal?

I saw images once of a guy that had a huge snake under the bonnet and only noticed when it burst due to the heat...I hope it's not that!!!

Try opening your engine bay immediately after you've been driving around to see if you can located it, I'm pretty sure by your description of 'air coming out' that it's a loose hose. I know if i've been giving it beans then my FR makes some noises, but thats the cooling fan and other components, not a hissing as you describe. I'd open the bonnet after the journey and leave it running, see if the same noise is there, then try blipping the throttle whilst someone inspects the various hoses... if in doubt give the dealer a shout!
