stiff clutch pedal

hi all, i have resently bought a mk2 ibiza cupra gti and found that the clutch pedal is abit stiff compared to my ex car (punto) is there a cable that needs oiling or something? cheers

2.0 16v? Get a new cable.

no its a 2.0 8v how much is it for 1 and are they easy to fit??
