Sterrio Troubles

Have the factory fitted radio and multi disc combo fitted at the mo, Only trouble is that the radio will play through all the speakers but when you play a cd it only plays through the right hand side sets. Anyone with any ideas as to what could be the problem, or anyone with a wiring digram that might help

Sounds like a wire from the CD unit to the head unit might be loose
Not too sure what else it could be

Cheers Junior Senior, have had the head unit and changer out and it doesent look like that there are any loose conections, however i did notice that a thread had been posted about how to fit a vag cd changer into a Mk 4, and noticed that on the three colour changer input to the back of the sterio there is a cable going to the middle block, where as on mine there is not. Maybe to do with different sterios but hope that the dealer will be able to let me know, if i dont find out from here.

has it always been like this or just recently developed the problem?

you could also try checking the settings on the stereo, some stereos store different settings for things like cd and radio etc for things like bass, treble, fade and balance...so just double check to make sure the balance isn;t set to one side for the cd settings if that makes sense.

has been like this since i had the car, it did have a hands free kit installed but have removed the offending object. My sony head unit works fine though, however someone else wants it in her car. have checked the balance etc and still no sound out of the left side
