stereo wires

Ive managed to remove the fitted stereo and the stereo ive fitted has bare ends from being used elsewhere and i know what the different wires are. On my MK2 ibiza i need to cut the end of wires of and wires them up. Does anyone know what the different colour are on the ibiza wires are. I can see which are the speaker wires.

Also can i do it without removing the battery, fuse? as long as i dont touch both + and-. If i need to remove a fuse which one, and where is it!!

You will have two ISO connectors, one has only got 5/6 wires in it and one has 8 wires in it - the one with 8 wires is the speakers.

You might also have a changer connection in there somewhere too, my Mk2 did.

in all fairness mate i would buy a new sterio lead rather than cutting the car up.

depending on sterio manufactor, there about £20. there not cheap, but at least its a propper job! its never the same when you chop the leads off the car plus you will only have to re-wire it again if you change the sterio!
