Steering wheel retrim for less than £20?!

Afternoon all.

Thought I'd post some pics of my Mk3 Leon FR steering wheel that I just fitted an AliExpress wheel cover to. I've never sewn anything in my life and I was so surprised by the quality and fit of the wheel cover, considering it was ~£18 delivered.

I went for full alcantara with red stitching to match the red piping on the FR seats and gear gator.

What do you think??

Started doing both bottom sections, and then did the top section from the red stripe outwards either side so the stitching is symmetrical.

I had to add a washer behind each paddle shifter fixing to accommodate for the additional thickness of the wheel now. I also added the AliExpress billet paddle extensions which I think are pretty cool.

Although it’s not my cup of tea, I can see you’ve but some effort into making it look good!

You've put some time and effort into that, but a big no-no from me. Too bulky for my liking, looks like one of those fluffy covers from yesteryear

I have to agree with Matt and Leyland... you've done a brilliant job and it's looks professionally done, but it's not my thing mate. Looks like it's wrapped in carpet (sorry!!).
