Hi Guys

Firstly I have done a search but couldn't find specific answers.

I have an 06 FR TDI with the Alana MP3 head unit, I want to swap it for the pioneer (DEH8400) that I had in my old car but would like to keep the aux in and steering wheel controls. I have the CD changer adapter for my unit which provides you with 2 phono leads.

Do I need an adapter or can I just wire the steering wheel control wire (yellow) to the yellow wire on the currently unused connector?

Are the other wires on the third connector for the Aux jack port by the hand brake?

Cheers Andy

I'm pretty certain a friend of mine has the steering wheel controls working with a different radio.

If you can't get the controls to work you could always change your wheel to the Cupra one which is a nicer shape and feel (I think its possibly a smaller diameter too) though my FR is the pre-face lift model so my steering wheel's different to yours.
