Steering Rack Settings fault

Hi,

I am having some problems with my steering rack. I noticed many people on the forum have had one replaced and wanted to know your experiences from start to finish.

Below i have listed what i have done and i would be most grateful if you can reply with what the best way of sorting out my issue is.

I took my seat leon 1.4 TSI sports pack leon into a local dealer a couple of weeks ago due to creaking on manoeuvring at low speeds.

They lubricated it all and said it was still creaking so they'd have to order the part.

Anyway they eventually replaced the steering rack under warranty and when i picked it up it was really stiff to drive.

Turns out there were a few settings even the garage didn't know about. The rack has a setup up for car type engine and a subsection for wheel size and depth anyway now its driving stiff.

I took the car into another dealers this week to get them to have a look at it the wheel geometry was out and tracking so the first dealer hadn't made good of the fitting.

The car drives very stiff other than at low speeds such as push pull 3 point turns.

Besides contacting seat uk any ideas whats up and what i should do?

I am considering finding out the vag com setting myself and telling them what to key in.

Thanks,

GhostMjr

That is what happened to my last car. The fault was eventually found in the steering control module which was replaced. THe steering was fine afterwards.

When the dealer replaced the rack he said the steering was normal. I had to take it to another garage and tell them the fault code that was found on vag com by my local revo dealer.

Great Thanks for your reply :D.

Who are revo dealers and who could check my car with a vag com unit besides a garage?

If someone besides a seat uk certified person did this would my warranty be void?

Thanks,
