steering controls on fr

will an after market head unit that i need to power my sub be compatable with the steering controlls on the fr or will i just have to sacrifice them for the sub?

I think there was a post up here a couple of weeks ago and there is an adapter that will fit into the back of the head unit that will alow you to use the steering wheel controls. Do a search im sure you'll find it.

is that to transfer sterring controll whires new head unit wires?

I think so. What it basically does is they have a few different types for different manufactures and all it does is plug into the back of the headunit were the standard steering wheel control lead plugged into the standard one, and then fits into the existing steering control lead.
I think thats what it does but might need someone else just to clarify things.

Autoleads don't do one at the mo and connects2 have theirs listed as under development.

Not sure on other manufacturers.

If there isnt one available there probably will be soon!

cool but i think i will be able to cope with out steering controlls when i pick it up is it a seperate loom then or all in one that fits in the radio iso conector?

Try that link mate, you need one adaptor for the make of head unit and one for the car manufacture i.e seat. They not cheap tho!

They dont work with the Seat though aparantly, ive been enquiring and have so far been unsuccessful.

Have you had any luck getting anything to work.

I've also seen the car audio direct ones, but don't know whether to try a set or not. No one an actually confirm if they work or not.

im waiting till i get a new cd player at x mas and fit the whole lot then in one go im going to try the ones from audio direct and see what happens they say all seats after 2002 if it dunt work i can send it back as they were wrong

i got a thing like thaty but didnt work looks like this may but im not going to do it just yet as i never got used to the steering controlls but will see how it goes with yours and maybe order it at another time!
