after being told that my lcr failed its mot yesterday because 1 of the rear springs had snapped(and i hadnt noticed) i rang a parts dealer 2day to get new 1s,but i was asked if the car had sports set up or the standard set up,so im just wandering if this was a choice when the car was new or do you think they mean aftermarket springs?

ok so i have had the springs fitted and had the car back, one look at it and i thought mm thats not right, the rear end seems higher than before.
the guy who fitted them said that the new 1s were 5mm longer than the 1s that came off so maybe it is the sports springs that i needed!

Do you mean 5cm?

5mm could just be because the old ones had sagged.

Length of springs isnt really anything to go by either cause lots of lowering springs have more coils but the bottom few all compress together once weight is on the car:)

You might find they settle after a 100 miles or so.....or is it a lot higher?

Mine settled about 6mm lower after about 3 days driving.
