Hi Guys,

Ive just bought a cupra R (whaahheeyy) - dont get it til next week but Im just trying to sort the insurance out now....does anyone know whether the factory fit Alarm&Immobiliser if Thatcham L1 and the standard fit Tracker...did that come with only one option or were you able to purchase different level of cover for it depending on how much you wanted to pay - i.e. 24hour monitoring vs just having nthe scenario where you walk out and your car has gone and you phone them up to find out where it is ? Its a March '04 model and I believe tracker was a standard fit at this point...

any help appreciated. If anyone would like to recommend an insurer I would also be very grateful to hear any good ones to try.

Cheers.

The alarm is cat1 as standard.
The Tracker is just the basic one , the only option was 1 years subscription or a lifetime one, insurance wise it won't make much if any difference to your premium.
Have you tried greenlight insurance (there's a thread on here for them), they seem good for some people. But what's good for one is not always good for the someone else alot depends on your postcode, history etc.

Tracker had the option of upgrading to monitor or horizon for a price. The paperwork for the tracker should tell you what is fitted.
Unfortunately you can't upgrade trackers, you have to get a new install of the one you want. ( so i was told anyway)
