Hi everyone. Ive just purchased a lovely black valver but within the first week the backbox has severred from the rest of the piping! It was in my grand plan to get a stainless system but i hadnt really planned on it being quite so soon. Does anyone know how much this would cost to fix if i took it to a garage, or do you think i should just take her to longlife or prospeed and pay 300 quid for a cat back?
cheers

my cat back longlife system was £400, i have no middle box, just a tailbox and a tailpipe

the oem system isnt that much from GSF, camberley auto factors or Euro car parts, the back box section is about £90-£120 i think

thats a good price for a stainless system

depends what you want to do, buy the back box of an OEM system now, and save for a proper cat back stainless system, or cough up for the stainless system now

Stainless catback with oval tailpipe being fitted as we type! mild sound for £280 (plus free bumper cutting so that the tailpipe sits nicely in the bumper.) Now to worry about how the hell to live for the next couple of months!:help:

Had it done...decided it was too loud so prospeed fitted a reducer pipe into the back box free of charge and its now perfect. Having had prospeed and longlife i recommend prospeed!! (plus they dont vandalise your car with advertisement stickers!!)

Shouldnt matter if its a different grade of stainless steel or not, it still shouldnt rust. Ive never saw stainless rust. Even at work, sheets sitting for 6 months plus and no sign of rust.

SS doesn’t rust through but the surface does. Ever left SS cutlery in the dish washer a bit wet ?? it’s the same thing…my tail pipe rusts up a bit but a few scrubs with a soap filled brillo pad just gets it off.
