Hi all,

I was reading through the guides on here and i was lookign at upgrading the dump valve becuase it states that the standard ones are of poor quality and should be replaced by a metal on such as Forge, when i had a quick look at mine, its already metal, although i havent had a detailed look at it, i was wondering it this will have already been changed, or did SEAT start to use better ones at some point?

Is there an easy way to tell if its standard? like i say ive only had a quick look from the engine bay, but i didnt see any markings on it at all.

Its a 04 plate Cupra

Thanks in advance

Ian

I bought the car second hand, I will try and put a pic up, does the engine cover have to come off to get a good look at it? will there be any other markings or anything to look out for?

i presume you have a 007 or 006
the 006 has a longer head to it than the bosch (i believe)
the 007 has a hexaggonal (octanganal or what ever) rim below the head rather than the round one you get on the bosch(i believe)

Thats not your dv, dunno what that is, but it ain't a dv....

The dv is situated at the rear left hand side of the engine (air box side) or right hand side rear as you stand at the front of the car looking at the engine, at the top near the rocker cover..

To gain access you'll need to remove the plastic engine cover, if i can find a pic i'll post it up....

in the mean time have a look at this --->http://www.seatcupra.net/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=10&Itemid=6

Got this off Pabs site, the dv is found under the engine cover underneath where the raised bit is, if you see what i mean...
