Standard Brakes/Disks

Hi all,

Havent been on here in a while, but got a quickie !

How long do standard brake disks & pads last

I know it all depends on your driving etc, but what is the "average" time ?

I'm coming upto 50k miles now & they seem to be as good as ever ??

I've done 50k on mine and I was thinking the same! They are worn but still absolutely fine.

Changed all mine at around 63k, pads were still fine but all the discs had had it!

No worries!

I'd just keep an eye on the discs...my pads clearly had enough meat in them, but the discs were corroding and were quite badly lipped.... you've probably got at least another 10k by the sound of it!

Yea, checked the disks & they looked fine, no lip on them etc.

Brakes are working as good as ever, but I was wondering how long they actually lasted lol

Dunno what mine are like but the warning light is on...glad my 312mm disks and carriers have arrived

I know you are but just thought I would say that it is the inner pads your judging things on isn't it?
These are the first ones to touch the disc so wear first.
50 - 60K miles is AWESOME, my front were lasting 20, 000 miles and rear were lasting 30,000 miles. Now down to about 10,000 for the front due to track days.

Yep inner pads Willie! but thanks for pointing that out I should have mentioned that!

I was mighty impressed with getting 63K out of them to be honest, think they would have stretched a bit further but with impending MOT and not wanting to scrimp on safety I replaced the lot with Ultimax discs and DS2500's....now that's much better
