I drove the beast home today. Here's some symptoms:
- Clutch bite point is basically at the top of the pedal
- Clutch pedal is squeaky, bit stiff perhaps
- Clutch pedal is still above brake pedal
- Pressing, holding and then suddely releasing the brake pedal causes a tiny increase is revs. Very tiny, but just about audible.
Have tried adjusting the clutch cable both ways and it doesn't seem to make any difference.
Symptoms of a worn clutch, faulty pedal box or possibly both?
edit - Okay, just had a go at that adjustment again and undone it all the way out. The pedal feels much lighter now, and doesn't seem to be squeaking. The bite is still high though. When adjusting this, there's a locking nut, a nut, a large black grippy thing, the spring, then another large black grippy thing sitting on the clutch lever. We just undid the two nuts until the spring was basically fully unsprung. Is this correct for adjusting it? Or is the second black grippy thing supposed to move? If the second black grippy thing is supposed to move, that would be our problem I think!
Apologies for my poor descriptive skills
