Squeaky brakes

Hey guys, I've had squeaky brakes for as long as I can remember, had my car serviced and MOT'd and neither have said any problem with brakes so I assume it is neither the pads or the rotor.

They REALLY squeak very high pitched and loud as it's starting to annoy me now as when the weather is nice and the windows are down it is very piercing.

I'm stuck at what to try as I've no good knowledge of mechanics.

My front bushes are worn and I need new brake fluid but these will be done before end of month but I don't think either of these could be causing the issue.

Help!

Usually the rusty lip the disc tends to get on it causes squeaking. That's what mine was

What's the best way to get the rust off? Thanks!

hold an old flat bladed screw driver and against the rust resting the handle on the caliper and spin the disc,it could also be that you dont have any copper grease on the pads anymore.

Back of the brake pads mate

I used wire brush to clean mine

could be you pads! what make are they? ebc tend to squeal like a pig with its nuts cut in the wheel arches!! and should have anti squeal plates or alike.
loads of copper grease on back of pads as said above or try braking from high speed and hard to clear any glaze off the pads.
so annoying and embarrassing i bet

any area on the pad that makes metal to metal contact with the caliper obviously not the face that touches the disc though.

Yerrr ebc are dog crap anyway tbh.
My pads squeal and my discs have warped they are only two month old.

Alot of the Type R users say this aswell.

Mine are what I bought it with so can't see it being anything decent.

When you say back of brake pads if I take the pad off its the bit on the other side if what rubs the rotor?

more importantly the edges which touch the caliper carriers or the caliper carrier itself and not the pad.

Had the same thing myself, turns out my brakes didn't have grease on them

Greased up the brakes and worked a treat
