Though im not convinced this is the final Cupra, though its likely its a test mule for it.

The kit we already know is a SEAT released kit for the Leon, as i posted up the other day after Autosport.

I would think the Cupra maybe more unique, but who knows?

Also the badge on the side looks more like an FR to me, but could easily be more misinformation.

Interesting all the same though.

Not too sure about the grills on the rear bumper and the centre exit exhaust, but otherwise it looks good. Will see what's around in a few years when it's time to change again. :)

Yer brakes stood out to me too. I'm not getting too excited about it, but felt id post this up anyway for a good old discussion. If you goto the homepage of German Car Fans, they also have a collection of spy shots of the new Audi TT undergoing winter testing too.

I still hate those wheels, although strangely it now looks nice in Red.

Not sure there is any difference between that car and the Spanish body kit that has been shown around here before (in silver).

Very interesting - a test mule out and about so early? Not got much masking on it, which does suggest it's just wearing the aero kit for ease of disguise...

Does look like an FR badge, but what's underneath? Front brakes don't look very big. Wheels don't look that big.

Central exhuast which was a Cupra design cue wasn't it? Photo's from Lehmann...

Id agree with Steve, its really for winter testing, as its winter now in the Northern Hemisphere, best time to do it :p

But they have already said, publically that the Cupra is to launch later this year, they will already be well into the testing phases.

FR, i would expect announcements fairly soon, as i can see that car launching at Geneva or at least being unveiled in a prototipo form, though id expect it to be ready to go.

And the Cupra may even appear at our very own London Motorshow in the summer, or later on in the year at Frankfurt.

Wheels are the same 18" ones from the kit, announced at Autosport.

Which makes me think - this is really just some poor sod who's off skiing for the day and has been photographed.

He added the "FR" badges on to make it look good. All the rest is standard kit that you can already buy, the only other way to tell would be to get some interior shots.

Just looks like another Leon with the Kit on, so maybe the FR has this kit and you can buy the kit for lower models off the shelf . I would hope then the Cupra model has something a little more...well more....of something.

Not crossed off my list yet, although for tax reasons I hope its not too good...

Edit, my above. No Frankfurt this year it seems, or at least for SEAT.

But the highest profile Motorshows, have to be.

Geneva - March (press late Feb)
Madrid - May/June (press late May)
London - July (press July)
Paris - October (press Sept)

Im hoping they do get something interesting at London. As the UK is, or at least was the one of the largest sales market for Cupra R/ Cupra / FR models.

Over 45% total Leon sales last year were FR/Cupra models. Some dealerships reported that they attributed to almost 80% of their annual Leon sales.

So if the UK isnt an important market for them, i don't where is.
