Having problems with spongy brakes on my tdi 130 ibiza! As i do a lot of track days the brakes get a hard time and seemed spongy for a while so upgraded to 312mm torox 6 potters with big improvements but still having spongy a pedal. I have bled them and pedal feels very solid with engine off but switch it on and pedal is spongy again. Is it the servo ? Any one any ideas? Cheers in advance:)

Have you had the system pressure bled? sounds like you might have air in there somewhere, possibly in the ABS resevoir .....

I watched a garage who knew what they were doing bleed mine and it took them 2 attempts with a full pressure bleed before it was right.

Yes i used the pressure bleed method (one man opperation) but did'nt bleed the master cylinder (will have a go asap). Seems odd pedal felt firm with engine off then went all soft with it running:confused:

exactly the same as mine....1 way you could check is using the oldfashioned way crack a nipple off, submerged in fliuid pipe etc, and then press the pedal.... the pedal should go to the floor but wouldnt advise as master cyclinder seals can fail
i bleed both nipples on the master cyc got 3 big ass bubbles and then straight away fine.... quick bleed up of all the other corners and all should be good

cheers

Ya the brakes are a bitch to bleed currently. I changed my brake fliud a month ago and took two attempts to get it bleed through properly. You have to check and re-check then top it all up and pray.
