two and a half turns in i think, try unscrewing the top all the way thus having the spring as soft as it can be and see if you get a whoosh, although it wont be loud because you are running standard boost and when you rev it on the drive you are not under load thus not making much pressure to blow off

Wot car have you got mate .
If its running low boost you may not hear it, also when you say its on full recirc mode does this mean you've got the blanking plate on and not the trumpet type bit

no you wont need a filter, look in the dv down the trumpet part, it should have a small opening, and the recirc bit should have a big opening, it has been known for them to be swapped upon manufacture,
a friend has one on his standard beeza cupra and tbh it sounds like an ant farting.

i suggest you get it remapped to make full effect of the sound.

this is what my spltr sounded like with standard boost

nice! mine sounds loud when in the car with the windows up.(and the radio off/down low(ish)). can't hear it with the windows down but i've not had the chance to have someone drive past me yet to hear what it sounds for an onlooker!

i've got a green panel filter and revo stage 1.

done nearly a full tank in less than 200 miles though! been driving so as to get a nice loud whoosh right enough so that probably explains it.

still loving the noise!

ran mine today in full recirc - was surprised to hear that the whoosh was still there - albeit much quieter than normal

there are no specific settings with the split-r
its adjustable specific to your car, its finding that setting that takes the time on occasion

trial and error

also depends where you run this valve, i only ever ran mine on standard boost but when i moved it to the TB-IC hose it was noticeably louder, could never hear it when it was on top of the TIP

mine was loud for standard boost compared to others ive heard

put mine back to full re-circ yesterday as the lag between gears was killing me and to be honest the noise is slightly better ( more of a flutter than a hiss )
