im getting worried about something, the car is making a huge amount of noise at speed, im talking about speeds of 85 - 100 mph on the autobhan of course, its my first diesel apart from a 05 caddy van i used to use which was quiet all over the place.. almost not there.

Its not a continuous sound but more thud* thud* thud* from the back, esp at acceleration. im thinking its the exhaust "note", is it normal on the 2.0 TDi? anyone the same, I'll be fine if its normal and part of the car but im worried its not.

I had a high speed noise on my last car, was back to the dealer countless times and they couldnt figure out what it was. Then one day the tyres were replaced and as if by magic the noise disappeared...... ;)

Yep,

As i've already mentioned in a different thread i bought a secondhand 2.0TDi
(05plate) back last November and have had three sets of bearings replaced !!

The two front caused various drumming resonance anywhere from 65-80mph and the rear had a different dronning sound from 50-60mph.

The moral of all this is to get one with some sort of warranty, still wouldn't want to sell it though !!! The dealer did admint that they had a few in with similair issues though.

Cheers

Mark.
