Hello i wonder if anyone can help i have a seat leon cupra TDI which has been modified to 200bhp+. The problem i'm having is when i hit a an incline say on a motorway the speed stays the same and doesn't increase even though my foot is flat to the floor any ideas?.....

in what gear are you in when this happens?
at what velocity are you travelling when this happens?
what are the engine revs when this happens?

what remap does the engine have?
how is the car tuned to get this 200bhp?
is it tuned for low down torque, or a decent midrange, or for headline figures?

what modifications other than power have been done to it?

who did this work?

has an impartial third party verified that the car is producing what it 'should' be doing/

without information your question is basically a waste of space.

provide information and it will be possible to answer it.

Well, if you approach a hill at 140mph, its not going to accelerate up it now as you're pretty much at Vmax.

However if you're approaching at 90 and floor it, it should at least accelerate a bit, depending on how steep the gradient is. My current record for approaching the bottom of haldon hill at 70 in 5th, is to be doing 110 by the top. Anyone who knows Haldon Hill where the M5 splits to Torquay and Plymouth, knows its one hell of a hill. Also running 200hp+ Obviously in km/h too. :)

a) 6th gear isn't for acclerating

b) 200bhp actually seems low, if you've got uprated injectors

c) any power graphs?

d) sounds like limp mode, do you have to turn car off to reset the fault?

As stated this could be a problem with the ecu in limp mode :(

Sometimes under very hard load on tuned cars the inlet pressure sensor will reach its working limits and cause the car to limp.
Or possibily it even has a fault on the sensor OR any other sensor.

I think the first port of call would be to have a daig check and see why/if the fualt is there.

When you say "Speedbuster" do you mean a propper remap OR a plug in module ??

No mention of FMIC - it could be heatsoak limiting the power when it's most needed. Acelerating UPHILL from 120mph is not good. Even mine with 220 horses does not accelerate that fast from 120 on the flat, let alone up a gradiant. I'm hedging my bets on heatsoak and a general fact that when you;'re already going quick uphill it won't go any quicker - should pull well though and be unlikely to actually slow down.

who done your injectors , theyre a new thing for the PDs
PD injectors have been around for over a year now mate where have you been hiding ?

@ 1980maximus I hope you have a hybrid turbo of some sort on your engine if you have up rated injectors. What turbo is it ?

I agree with devonutopia in that if there is no FMIC i would put it down to heat soak from the information givern.

Got beaten by a peugeot gti on hill so there must be a problem with turbo or engine, what is the heatsoak?

The car does a 143mph though so it's very odd when hitting a gradient!!!!!!!!

Also after removing the cat and egr the exhaust really overpowers you with fumes and at startup a bit of blue smoke but after 2-3 mins driving disappears.

I love that smell.  I get whiteish smoke for first few seconds of startup.. nothing after that. Heatsoak.... Hmmm I'll be as brief as I can.

Air goes in your intake pipe through the turbo and eventually into the engine. There's a small side mounted intercooler in the front right of the car which the air goes through, but on a tuned car its inefficient for cooling. If the turbcharged air is too hot, say in the region of 85 - 90 deg C + then the ECU will limit the boost and power to preserve the engine. A vented front mounted intercooler like mine below will keep intake temperatures down in the 50s even under high power demand and in hot weather. Means the engine is running better and holds more power sustained for more of the rev range. Hope that helps.

Edit: Does the Leon Cupra TDI come with an FMIC? I thought it did?.....
