Speed camera trackers

Just wanted to add something to this that I saw in this months Ride magazine. They were reviewing a sat nav with a speed camera option, and found that the database had alot of false positives on there. Their comment was that you might be able to figure out what drivers have what detector brand by the way they slam their brakes on for no visible reason!

While it's nice to be over-cautious, I wonder if over time all the GPS based camera detectors will become filled with phantom cameras?

I don't actually own one myself so I don't know what the updates do, but I just thought I'd share their observation.

it gives you all the sites lasers are located in the update period, the locations of ALL laser sites have to be made public though the public aren,t told where to find this info.the warning of a laser detection zone, even if not parked up should always be followed as the police can use a plain car with equipment on that stetch of road by being in a mobile vehicle.new equipment means the police parked in a layby is out of date....

this story about phantom camera,s and people braking for no apparent reason has no theory behind it ,or shouldn,t as if everybody was following speed limits there would be no reason to slam on brakes......this is admitting basically that 1-they weren,t following speed limits on theses tests or 2- were blatantly speeding, hoping that the detectors would work in time for them to slow down...........

I use a snooper s6r neo with lifetime updates (£120 second hand on ebay) and a beltronics 975r radar/laser detector ~ £400... Both very good at what they do!
