I have bought a 2001 Leon Cupra, I was under the impression that only the Cupra R had a 6speed box, what are the other differences aside from the power.

status subject to change
or in short (and off top of my head)
transmition:
they all have 6 speed box, well the LC and LCR certainly do.

engine:
power difference is mostly due to different turbo, the LCR has a Ko4 turbo the LC a K03 / K03s.
the LCR also has different compression ratio, larger air intake / Maf housing.
it also has 2 intercoolers although each are slightly smaller than the single on on the LC.
as a consequence the inlet manifold is the opposite way around between LC and LCR

suspension:
the LCR is also 15mm lower with stiffer suspension and higher damping ratio i think.
the LCR also has a lower front strut brace.

interior:
the LCR has black interior from dash up, ie roof liner etc,
the later LCR also have a nicer steering wheel with red stripe at top.
seats on LCR have 'R' on them, and option is recaro rather than leather as on the LC.
the air vents on the LCR have red lines on the horizontal adjuster.

brakes:
the brakes on the LCR are better, they have vented rears and brembo upfront.

exterior
LCR has different body kit, (front rear bumpers)
single larger exhaust tail pipe.
LCR has 18" alloys, LC 16" multi spoke and 17" split 5 spoke later on.

i know you might find it a pain mate, but believe me - when you've been on the forums as long as some people on here - you'll get sick of people asking the same questions, over, and over, and over again. So you'll find if you ask a repeated question, and don't bother searching, all you will get back is links!

But yes, LC and LCR both have 6-speed boxes. Different engines, different wheels, bodykit, seats, etc etc.

Don't forget that both models come with various options too... sat-nav, recaros, so theres a LOT of differences out there.

I was a bit confused as the previous owner has put genuine front and rear Cupra R bumpers and steering wheel.
Does any one know anything about a knackered Air con display, ie where to get one repaired or the cheapest place to get a second hand one.

The Cupra R bodykit is a very common mod - a LOT of people without R's put the bumpers on their 1.4's, tdi's etc.

Air Con display - you'll need a new one - scour ebay as they occasionally come up - i've seen them for £10-50 on there. However, from a dealer they are £200+.
