Sparks !

Anyone here had sparks emitting from the back of their Cupra Diesels

I was happily commuting my way down the motorway (admittedly going at a fair old rate prior), when I was met by a shower of sparks emanating from the back of my car. In all my motoring days I can't honestly say I've never seen that before !

I'm assuming it was a) Exhaust/Soot or b) Brakes, anyone shed any light on it ?

carbon gettting burned off from the exhaust , u can rest easy , u mustnt be pushing hard enough to let it build up lol

That's the reason I had a spurt having sat in traffic for hours. I guess booting it in 5th for a mile or two must have heated the poor exhaust more than usual.

Must have been quite a show from behind though

You need to get it upto about 500 degrees. that will burn the soot off . although when i had mine that high i never had any sparks

picture the scene , 3 mile long hill , 330D , heavy foot ,

proper craic

You wanna watch that turbo of yours, temperatures over 700 degrees dont do it any good. anything over that and you need to start getting worried about what damage could be happening inside your poor pd130 turbo and engine.

it'll be grand , i backed off actually at that point , reckon i can get it higher , just need another 330D

330d what a pile of **** only kiddin, you wouldnt have a chance against me, apart from wet slippery corners and roundabouts

Yay i joined the sparks club again on the way to Santa Pod!

I just think my car is happy with its new FMIC but i seriously doubt my Exhaust Temps were exceeding 600 - the convoy was slow and i was only speeding up a lil to do the video

I was behind a vauxhall astra one night (petrol) sparks started coming out of the exhaust then it broke down!
