halfords spark plug kit, comes with all you need and different size heads, they have to be deep ones to get over the plugs.

with the halfords one you get a proper ratchet handle, extension and couple of different size sockets, also get gap measures for the plugs.

Ive had mine years and its really handy good to get into awkward places in the engine.

you can buy the sockets separately.

They are 16mm A/F. I did mine recently and did not have a special spanner so just used a long extension to reach into the recess. One of the plugs (far right i think) is a twat because you have to remove a bracket to get access. Apart from that its easy.

What are you putting in? I put in Denso Iridium 22's as I am running higher boost. I am happy with them and also used them in my last car (200SX).
I could tell the difference in responsiveness in both cars.

Halfords do a cheap toolkit which ive been using amongst others for a couple of years, black case and the sparkplug socket included works great with the extender used. 16mm or 5/8 socket works if long enough, stick with a proper socket designed with the rubber grip inside.

ease the clip-on wire block off (you need to do this first as the rest of the copilpack wont come out with the limited slack of the individual wiring, then pull the tube out of the spark plug hole.

If you dont value your knuckles yea itll just about do but I seriously wouldnt recommend that, the reach is barely long enough as the sparkplugs on the 20vt are very very deep and you risk rounding them.
Ive got these

the 10mm sparkplug socket is fine for our 16mm ones, I also bought an extension wobblebar so I wasnt knocking anything with the ratchet while i was turning it.
