Hi,

Is it / can you up grade your spark plugs and is it worth it ? If you can any recommendations ?

My car is standard apart from the usual DV upgrade and green panel air filter.

So buying a set of NGK Iridium IX spark plugs is a better move than buying the standard spec ones?

According to the site linked above the Iridium IX plugs are cheaper than the standard spec ones too. :)

Iridiums have a more consistent spark irrespective of how strong/weak the current being delivered, and can offset some of the effects of weak coil packs.

They supposedly increase performance and MPG, but I'd take that with a pinch of salt. The NGK's are fantastic. Used them in last 2 cars and they go on and on. Plugs work harder in modded cars, and these outlast standard plugs significantly.

Hi
If the car is std then normal plugs will do ;) You will gain zero in performance otherwise.
I use iridium plugs as the spark is stronger and they are less prone too have the spark affected when running high boost & compression in a tuned engine ( i think the term is spark blow out )
As mentioned std plugs with the correct gap set will produce the best results for your car.
I would not waste money on expensive plugs if i were you !!
All the best.
Cheers

Hi Cupra 79
I dont think there will be an up date as you cannot feel anything for just changing plugs on a std car to be honest ;)
But on a modded car you can feel if the plugs are not performing .
Cheers

I just want to know if nibbles got the right ones as that site above lists BKR6EIX as the plugs to get and BKR6EIX-11 3764 seems to be a different one?.
