I know my beeza aint a performance model or anything, and is only a 1.4, but seeing as I'm lowering, was thinking about gettin spacers on too. Granted it probably wont make much difference to the handling etc, but surely anyone who knows about cars would notice the wheels are slightly more apart than normal, also, deep down, i'd now :D. Think it may also help in the corners a bit when I finally do achieve a high speed :D

So what you think? Is it worth it?

If so, where's best place to get em from and also how much are they roughly?

Badger5 does some hubcentric ones with longer wheelbolts for around £90 ish.

There are cheaper options but it's not something to muck around with.

oh, and what kind of distances we talking about? just 20mm each side (seems to be the common measurement i see on here).

Do you think just putting spacers on the back would be good? Then if people do look at the car from the front/rear, they would notice the rears are more apart than the fronts.

what you mean by that? Thought it was as simple as attaching these to the centre of your hub (or whatever its called :D)

I think he means it's not worth running the risk of getting cheap and nasty spacers, as at the end of the day they are holding your back wheels on.

If you ask Bill he can also sort you out with the bolts that are specific to the non-Cupra models with drum brakes, as the standard long bolts will interfere with the internal braking mechanism.

I think most people here that get spacers get rears, as there is something like a 17.5mm difference between the rear and front stances. I've been meaning to get them for 2 years, not got round to it yet.

You'l find it makes quite a diference once you get it lowered and atleast 10mm spacers front and back. To be honest i still feel that my 1.4S handled better than my cupra does and they had the same set up, both on spax coilovers lowered about 50mm(1.4S was lowered about 70mm tho) and 10mm spacers front and back on 17" 215/40R17's. I had to get longer bolts to fit them but they were easy to come by as i was in birmingham at the time where i found a place that sold them including McGuard lockers, you can get longer bolts loads of places now tho cos there a common thing now

Thats what ive got but only in 20mm as the spacer bolts to the hub then your wheel bolts to the spacer, been on months and no issues.

mmmm..... how exactly do the spacers "bolt" to your hub? I mean if they bolt in like the wheels do, then where do the wheel bolt go? i thought maybe they kinday fit of the center of the hub, align with the standard hole, then bolt wheel and spacer on together ???

you think they're ok? are the definatley the same one you have? what model you got? mine is 1.4 .cool/s (no rear brakes)

so is there like, i dunno, something at the back of the spacers that slot into the holes on the hub, then you put bolts throught the rims and spacers?

lookin at those pic then. i'm guessing the spacer attaches to the hub instead of the wheel, and the wheel just bolts to the spacer? would that be correct?

the longer bolts is what was confusing me. i assumed they was longer so they could go throught the spacer and into the hub ;)

Not sure if this has been asked before, but my car has been lowered by 40mm -
15mm hubcentric spacers be ok as i checked the gap between tyre and the wheel arch and looks quite tight -

o im on 17's aswell

Where did you buy the spacers your using???

Ive looked at the ebay link posted and was all set to buy them then noticed that they were 15mm instead of the 20mm ones

I got them from that supplier i just messaged him on a set of spacers n asked if he could get me some 20mm ones, he replied pretty quickly and seaid that he would post some up on ebay, which he did the next day n i got them ones. The 20mm ones come with a set of bolts to bolt the spacer to the hubn then use your origional bolts including the locking one to bolt your wheel to the spacer. As for the 15mm ones they attach using longer wheel bolts and just sit in between the wheel and hub, you have to put the longer wheel bolt through the wheel then the spacer and then screw it to the hub, its much more fiddly.


As for being lowered most people will say if you've got 17 and are lowering go for 15mm spacers as 20mm may cause some issues.

Thanks mate, I messaged him yesterday about them but as its the weekend i'll give it till tomorrow, if he aint replied to me then i'll just give him a phone

How much including delivery were they if you dont mind me asking???
