Wife just got an fr tdi at weekend. Great little car, she loves it already and can't wait to ditch the company ford focus. Only issue is high speed road noise from rear. Has anyone put sound proofing in theirs. What? Where?

Changing my tyres away from the michelin things that were on there also made a big difference!

I got all my stuff from noisekiller http://www.noisekiller.co.uk/.

Both cars ended up sounding the same, with the road noise suppressed. Its still not quite there. Pete and I think there must be one last bit that we have missed that maked it perfect...

Just a thought. Have you checked the tyre pressures since picking it up? It's not unknown for new cars to be sent out with over inflated tyres.

Having said that Mk 4 Ibizas do kick up quite a bit of road noise.

I went for the GSD3's and they work ok too :) The 5 door seems quieter than the 3 door too which leads me to think its got a lot to do with resonance in the rear quarter panel areas...
