Sorry best I could do was same basic manufacturer

Unfortunately the best I could do yesterday was one from VW, still same group so not too bad I hope.

I was booked to start looking after a new Golf which was delivered a couple of days ago, as this was the 4th new car from the same dealer I said it shouldn't need machining as the others were spot on :thumb:

Here is a couple of before wash pics..

Once clean I expected to be able to just clay and then glaze, seal etc, however I was greeted with this...

I actually took a lot of pics showing marrings but these were the only two which came out clear enough to see, but every panel was marked :wall: :wall:

So what was planned to be an easy day started looking worse, even more so as I was taking the wife out early in the evening, so time was against me.

Out with the rotary and Menz IP 3.01 and megs yellow pad, 900rpm to spread, 1200 to work, bumping to 1500 on bad parts then back to 900 to finish. Being against the clock makes you sweat:doublesho , so here are some afters (before wax etc)

After machining a quick PC round the car with Swissvax cleaner fluid, followed by Best of Show, then do all the trim etc with CG's Trim gel, wheels by CG's Wheel guard, Tyres get the CG's extreme liquid treatment (buffed to matt down), the interior was vac'd then a clean over with the new CG's/DW quick detailing spray and the carpets and seats were given a coating of CG's Fabric guard (smelly stuff but works a treat)

I love th upholstery! Its a throw back to the Mk1, the first true GTI.

Top job Gary, spectacular as always. But all that money on a new car - thats how it should arrive at the customer!
