Someone's nicked my coilovers

Finally got the tracking number off Jay at BigBoysToyz today - turns out that after about 3 weeks my coilovers are finally in the country. However, online tracking says at 3:31pm they were signed for by James in Bury St Edmonds. I live in Colchester. UPS have said it was dropped off by a neighbour on my street - he is called James. However they couldn't explain why I had a note through my door saying there was an 'attempted delivery' and it would be tried again tomorrow. Not happy with his answer I called again and spoke to a nice lady - she's going to do some digging and try to confirm where my parcel is. She didn't confirm it was on my street and said if it was in Bury at their depot, it wouldn't have been signed for. So someone's had off with my coilovers as noone has turned up from my street with them, or said 'come get them' (21kgs) and noone round here is called James!

So if this isn't sorted out, I'm £500 out. Joy. [:@]

no you're not - the rules are that you don't need to pay if they've not been delivered

BBT will know the process for this (and if they don't, they soon will when you dispute the claim with your bank!)

Lots of calling UPS yesterday after posting and still nothing. I never heard back from whoever the lady passed me onto. In a bit of better news, my new front end turned up :)

you need to give big boys toys a call. As the sender its their account and they will have more joy chasing UPS than you will. i would have thought they will be well versed in this sort of thing happeneing when you consider how much mail order stuff BBT send out. Give ** a call

Well, they somehow arrived yesterday. I had contacted Jay via PM when it happened and waited it out yesterday before trying again. Here's the story:

I received a note through my door saying UPS tried to deliver and would try again. I was at work and tracing my parcel online - it said at 3:31 it was delivered and received by James, and was in Bury. I phoned my kid sister at home and she informed me about the note, but no package.

Queue me spending two days on the phone trying to work out where my coilovers were. Some people said it was definitely somewhere on my street (so someone nicked it), some said it was back with them and someone else said they had no idea.

Yesterday's call revealed that the signature 'James' was a mere two dots and a squiqqle. The person I spoke to put a second complaint through to Bury as they were meant to respond the night before. Bury called and said there was a mix up, it was meant to go out yesterday (not the day prior like it had), and ended up on the wrong truck etc etc

She said she'd contacted the driver and was waiting for him to confirm if he had it on his truck (the right one), and would call back.

I had no call back.

Though at about 5pm they found their way to my house, my sister received them. There was no apology or explaination as to where they were etc, so I was very fookin' miffed. So like I said, the top comment on the UPS tracking site is bull - as I tried to track it yesterday but as it was already delivered, it wasn't being tracked anymore. The lady I spoke to (who filed the complaint) said that her screen said it was booked out at about 4am, but assured me the online tracking wouldn't follow it. So that's something manually added - as it was delivered past 3:51pm AND isn't in Bury.

Personally, I reckon the driver wanted them, realised they wouldn't fit and slung em back ;)
