Software Update

Having set up a Primary User on our new Leon FR yesterday, it informed us today that it had a software update to perform. We said "yes" to install the update. Having then driven off, we then got a message saying that it could not do the update whilst we were driving. At the end of the journey we did not stop the engine and then told it to proceed with the update. The message then changed to the attached photo stating an update was in progress (we also could see a separate message saying it would work in the background). There was no progress bar (or similar) to indicate how long the software update would take (or even if it was still doing it). After 30 minutes, we gave up and switched things off. Does anyone know how long the software installation process works and whether it will resume behind the scenes in the coming days?

I had an update last week and once I parked. The screen was the same of yours, I just turned the car of locked it and left it overnight. Haven't checked version yet but it hasn't notified me since. I think it's safe to say it will do it in the background, the infotainment is always on as it's needed for seat connect

I had a update exactly showing the same shortly after purchasing the car, it seemed to take hours and days to make small but different changes to the infotainment system until unfortunately it totally crashed.
Subsequently it went back to dealers for 2 days while they cleared a fault (that would not clear without Seat uk help) and did a update on the infotainment system, all seems well at the moment for the last couple of months except the in built maps loses it position and gets itself and us totally lost.

Having set up a Primary User on our new Leon FR yesterday
Out of interest, can you advise how you became the primary user?

I'm having no joy - in the SEAT connect app I click the "Become Primary User" link, then get a screen that suggests I might get an email from them, but I don't; trying it in the car, it just gets stuck on "please wait".

To be honest I had no problem setting it up, If I remember I had the email straight away and it was up and running until last week where it lost it’s connection for a week or more.
I sent a email to the custom service about it but I never received one back, the next day though it was connected again. ??‍♂️

Did you check your Spam area ?.
Yes; dealer has been having portal permission issues and trying to resolve. Sounds like I'm still not registered properly.

(Sorry for the delay - been really busy and not had a chance to chase the dealer either)

Tried a lot more stuff today; factory reset on the infotainment, delete and re-add account, then at the dealer was going to try my account on a different car and their account on my car and... looks like the SEAT servers were down  no-one could log in to any cars.

On the plus side, I did find my odometer! The factory reset turned off my cruise control, thus revealing it :)

Sounds fun... Seat will have to get up to speed on their software. Think they flog their cars to analogue petrol heads but going digital those petrol heads may be more demanding when they cant get stuff ?. Updating maps they have hid behind "use your phone". Now it will be "use a compass" ?.

The missing odometer also hides under the 2016 Ateca screen if you bring up cruise control and that's using the old fashioned dash. Must be a similar overlaying screen design.

The cruise stuff has 'covered up' the odometer for ages. My previous 2016 Fabia did it, and I think I remember my mum's 2014 Superb having the cruise info in about the same place too.

Even the Mk3 digital dash cruise control covered the odometer.

Sorry to drag up and old thread, did you ever get this resolved? having the same issue with my Formentor. No email received and when i try and complete the primary user process in the car, it just hangs on 'please wait'. I am logged into the car fine with my CUPRA ID, but just cant finish the 2 key part as it just hangs.
