I'm fookin buzzin!!

All this hot weather, world cup and then this morning decided not to use the air con but have both front windows open...And the whistle from the turbo is amazing!! I was driving down enclosed roads just to hear it!!

Saves petrol aswell not using climate!!

I now know what my car sounds like to other people...Mmmmmmmm

Right mate happy to hear this, will try my 225 out this lunch hour with the windows down!

BTW, very quickly do you prefer the LCR to the Civic you had? Would be really interested, because I nearly bought one, but changed my mind snd got a LCR!

Thats a good point, I am more of a windows open kind of person, rather than an Air-con person, but this morning I had the aircon on, I did miss the whistle.

Actually it doesn't. You'll use more fuel with the windows open due to the extra drag.

Doesn't pan out like that in reality tho....

Cupra wins hands down matey. was always disappointed with the civic for some reason. You had to thrash fook out of it to get any enjoyment. I was always unsure on how i felt. It was built up to be such an awesome car and i didn't really like it. Suppose i'm not a fan of high revers. Tried a celica 190 vvti before i got the leon and this was the same. You feel sort of 'go on then, go on' and nothing till 6/6.5k revs.

The cupras power is soooo much more accesable and a lot better to drive...you made the right choice imho. ;)

I need to get my AC serviced as it's not providing COLD air at the mo, it gives me slightly chilled, but doesn't make the car cool...

If I had a convertable the roof would be well and truely down at the moment. The only convertable I'd have at the mo is the S2000

I have NO air-con at the moment, still waiting for Camberley Service Centre to get a fan control unit in to replace the one that's blown up. Not their fault I am quite sure, but its 3 weeks today it was in with them, and I'm getting a bit pissed off now! Thankfully my wife parks the car in a private car park under her building, so its not in direct sun baking all day long.

In terms of power consumption i.e. petrol burned per mile, it is better to keep the windows closed and use aircon if you have it fitted above about 20 mph.

It all depends on how much you are prepared to pay for the other benefits of fresh-air motoring, such as better contact with the real world outside the cabin, the sound of the turbo, the smell of the new-mown field:) , the cows in the field:blink: , and the feeling of the pebble pinged against your skull by the articulated lorry going the other way

Interesting!!! I understand the point re: drag etc - but how on earth do you come to the answer that at 20 mph it is better to have the cc on and windows closed?
