Hi Guys
Any advise on what i should get for my cupra in the way of snow wheels and tyres.
I have had a look online, went on mytyres.co.uk.
They seem reasonably priced. Anyone used them??
To make it a bit cheaper i went by what my spare wheel is, 185/60 R15.
£90 per corner for BF Goorich G-force winter and steel wheel. Seems a good price.

Anybody fitted 15" steel wheels with winter tyres to there cupra before?? Shouldn't make to big a difference to the speedo.
Any advice would be good!!

Cheers

The online calculator says there is only 1mm difference between 215/40R17 and 185/60R15 tyres so you wont have any issues with the speedo.

As long as you dont have the racing brakes upgrade ( 4 pot calipers ) or a normal 312mm brake upgrade you should be ok with 15" wheels.

Ignore rolling radius, it doesn't really matter, all it does if you change it is through your speedo off a little bit.
I ran 195/65/15's the winter before last and according to TomTom it made my speedo perfectly accurate rather than under reading like it usually does.
You won't fit 14's on the car I don't think, it was tight as hell getting 15" BBS golf alloys on over the standard brakes (see RR thread)
Get some 15" steelies with the right offset (do a search though I think it's et39-et45 from memory?) and put on whichever size tyres are cheapest that will fit on the wheels in the make and model you want.

I can recommend the Nokian WRG2's in 195/65/15 as excellent performance, they were pretty cheap when I bought them, and I only got stuck once t'other winter when it snowed like mad (again, see RR Thread for the snow that finally defeated them)

Here we go again..
I got some used alloys from a mk1 leon and and have some Ovation winter tyres on.. did all for a couple of hundred and looked better than the black steel wheels.
Put them on too early last year and you really have to keep the speed down and keep the cornering at a lower speed....
Agree with Nightflight about the 15" wheels were a little neat as well and i have 195 65 15 tyres as they were cheaper than the 185 60 15 that the spare is.
