Smoothing standard airbox

I've been and purchased some emery stones for my drill and set about trying to smooth the airbox, lets just say if i carry on doing it with the small emery stones it wont be done for months, lol.

How has everyone else done there?

I have not done this myself but did read up on it and im sure that someone cut most of the ridges out with a stanley knife and then smoothed the rest down like you are saying with a dremel or the likes.

get some mole grips, grab hold of each slat in the centre and twist off, worked for me, then just sand using a dremel

maybe try flashbsd method and the stanley knife and see which one you prefer, yeh be careful of your fingers mate, you dont want a a.k.a of stumpy now do you

J@mes has done his standard airbox, he has an LCR but you do it the same way

I dont know if I could spend the hours doing this, Ive got a ram air maxflow that I am happy with and I dont think the smoothed air box will give the same sound somehow

The mole grips work ok, just need smaller ones to get in the fiddly bit. I tried the knife and nearly took my arm off.

Yeah, i saw that earlier, it doesn't really tell me how to get it that way.

I'll carry on with mole grips and pliers, it's going ok so far.
