First off sorry if i have posted in the wrong place.

I bought a 1.8t leon a couple of weeks ago but i have only being using it the past two days but i have an issue and wonder if anyone could help before i book it in to be checked out.

I left the car running outside the shop, came out and there was black smoke coming from the exhaust (went away when driven). Could this be caused by-

Full de-cat exhaust
or
Lambda sensor unplugged

Smells as though its running quite rich too.

If anyone could point me in the right direction please.

Oh and it may have been remapped...if that could cause it to smoke?

The kid i bought it off had just fitted the exhaust, he told me that the lambda sensor was welded to the old system and was knackard. He gave me the lead with the lambda still attached, it does look burnt but then again so would i if i lived in an exhaust pipe.

You must have the EM light on the dash?

I'd say it was the rear one not connected as it would run like crap without the front one?

I'd say from the black smoke, rich smelling etc it might be the front that is missing?

How bad is your mpg?

Yes the light is on but have not been running it long enough to work the mpg out seems ok though.
