2003 LCR 27000mls REVO'D, maybe because its starting to get a little cooler this time of the year but even after a good 10 mile run, when i stop up in traffic, there seems to be alot of smoke/fumes coming out of my motor. I believe that early symptons of a failing turbo is a smoking exhaust but my turbo seems fine to me. Do any of yere cars emit alot of smoke idling?

mine does it too, its steam on mine. even after a run i still get the rear window mist up when i boot it, but it does depend on how cold it is outside.

How cold?? About lets say 7 to 8 degrees, it looks like steam, its just that there is so much of it, maybe im just not used to this as i only bought the car during the summer (it didnt seem so bad in warm weather) and the fact that my previous car was a 1.4 leon!!!! Was doubting the problem was the turbo because its always allowed to spool up, and i never hammer it from cold.

 im buzzing, misread that.

yeh could be steam. Best place is try in closed enviroment, such as garage,
warm it up and rev it.
white smoke ok
but blue or black aint

Not completely true. White smoke would indicate water in the oil (IIRC) and is a bad sign. Steam of course is usually not a problem.

The way to tell the difference is that in an enclosed environment white smoke will not dissipate like steam will. Imagine your kettle on boil, all the steam comes out but quickly evaporates in to the air, (and it's not very dense looking even so). White smoke is due to water in the oil is different, it's much denser and will quickly fill the back of the garage etc. Also steam essentially doesn't smell, white smoke will.
