I was on briskoda today and saw a thread about the smic on the fabia vrs, It seems that the vrs has no vent in the wheel arch liner, my fr has this and I was wondering if just the tdi and 20vt ibiza's have this or is it all of them?

It seems to aid the AC getting rid of hot air from the compensator so that's why I am asking

it'll be to alleviate pressure rather than aid cooling... the pressure might be released another way on the skoda

I was surprised to find my Passat doesn't have a vented arch liner, even though it has the same engine and similar SMIC as the Ibiza.

However, I did some logging with vag-com back in the summer and I couldn't get the intake temps over 50-60ºc no matter how hard I tried, yet with the Ibiza which DID have a vented arch I could get it to 80-90º quite easily.
